D-Beta Glucans For Improving Immune Performance

I have found through various scientific research, D-Beta Glucans yield many benefits that boosts the immune system due to its ability to stimulate immune cells for pathogenic defenses, meaning they can defend against respiratory tract infections, colds, influenza (flu), and more. When immune functions are stimulated with an increase production of Natural Killer Cells, Killer T-Cells, immunoglobulin, and the activation of macrophages and monocytes this produces chemicals that prevent infection, thus enhancing the effectiveness in immune performance. Especially when D-Betta Glucans are received in therapeutic doses.

Let’s take a look at some of these immune cells that protect us when supported by the consumption of D-Beta Glucans. D-Beta Glucans are like the secret weapon that improve our health and make the immune system strong and vibrant. They are what gives our immune cells the ability to be most effective in their defense.

·       Neutrophils is an immune cell that is very abundant and effective in combating infection only when there’s enough intake of D-Beta Glucans. Can’t do it alone without D-Beta Glucans.

·       Macrophages is an immune defender consuming those invaders and presenting antigens as a result to T-cells and B-cells. We want those macrophages to eat up those antigens, stopping them in their tracks. We need D-Beta Glucans to kickstart macrophage activity.

·       T-Cells helps to find the infected and viral bacteria or cells, grab onto them, and drill right into each to kill it. The intake of D-Beta Glucans supports in T-Cell stimulation.

·       Natural Killer Cells do not need to recognize an antigen before destroying a cancer, bacterial, or viral cell, and infectious microbes. It binds to its target membrane and release toxins to eliminate it.

Considering Foods that contain copious amounts of D-Beta Glucan (oats and mushrooms) is highly encouraged as the body does not make these compounds naturally. D-Beta Glucan makes sure your body has the support to battle and combat infections and disease with a win.

·       Reishi Mushrooms contain D-Beta Glucans that stop or slow the growth of tumors. Studies report the intake of these mushrooms may increase white blood cells known as natural killer cells that target cancerous and abnormal cells, and improve white blood cell function in the body. A recommended therapeutic dose, ranges from 1.5 to 9 grams per day.

·       D-Beta Glucans are found in the cell walls of Oats. Oats contain the highest concentration of D-Beta Glucans. An intake of 1 ½ cup yields 3 grams of beta-glucans. Increasing the amount 7 to 10 grams per day offers benefits in curbing hunger, reducing caloric intake, slowing absorption of sugar in the bloodstream, and reducing absorption of cholesterol in the digestive tract.

Always remember to consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new health regimen, especially if you’re pregnant, nursing, or on medication.
